People Not Profit is really more a community of friends than an incorporated nonprofit organization, though we are both. Started unofficially in the Spring of 2006, PNP has moved from its initial focus on need-specific fundraisers in Uganda and Rwanda toward long-term investment locally in the St. John neighborhood in Northeast Austin, and internationally in the village of El Sunza in El Salvador. We utilize the wide variety of gifts and skills of all involved to creatively, practically and holistically work toward community development among the poor. Examples from the past year include: sponsoring and coaching a youth soccer team in St. John, building a house in El Sunza, teaching photography to Salvadoran youth, enhancing vocational training facilities in El Salvador through the purchase of computers and sewing machines, and tutoring and mentoring youth in Austin.
We raise funds and create awareness through a t-shirt business called People Clothing. More on our website: peoplenotprofit.org

Finally a merger of reason and human compassion thanks to people not profit ! Through a host of lifes circumstances, I have come to see the western political- economic social structure for what it is, a horrific crime ,against mankind and nature. I would love to talk to someone involved with Peoplenot profit, and get more involved with the group. Could someone out there please introduce themselves !? Note- just call me James.
